I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, working in private practice online and in Leicestershire

About Me

Growth and beauty

My training

I am a BACP accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist and I studied with the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI), qualifying in 2012. My BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy is validated by Coventry University. I also hold a Diploma in Supervision from CSTD Bath and offer supervision to groups and individuals. Both trainings were rigorous and involved a lot of personal work as well as professional development.

This was the start of my journey and I hold the idea that we are always learning and growing.

Through my continued learning I have undertaken extra learning on the topics of - disability, rape and sexual abuse, working relationally in therapy, mindfulness meditation, attunement, ethical practice, trauma work, gender diversity, body image difficulties, technology addiction, couples and relationship therapy, body work, and working with children and young people.

I work closely with a supervisor on a regular basis to ensure that I am practising ethically and working in the interest of my clients.

Path to growth

My experience

I have been practising as a therapist since 2010 and working in private practice since 2013. I have a wide range of experience working with adults, young people and couples. As well as private practice, I have worked in different charity and volunteer settings around Leicestershire.

In private practice I work with individuals and couples+ who either come to me privately, through their Employee Assistance programme or their insurance company. I am also experienced in offering online or telephone counselling.

I am a supervisor to trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and anyone in the helping professions.

I have recently joined the BSc Counselling and Psychotherapy team at SPTI in Nottingham as a Skills Tutor working with trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.

I am BACP Accredited and on the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Please see the Counselling and Psychotherapy page for more details.

I have extensive experience of working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ or who are experience life from a diverse gender, sexuality or relationship.

I have an interest in working with body image and self esteem issues and I come to this work from a weight neutral perspective. Our bodies are amazing and carry us through all sorts of experiences throughout our lives and I believe that it's important that, for our well-being, we find ways to respect and appreciate our bodies, just as they are right now.

Hidden sources of love

Where I work from

I usually work from Leicestershire, Narborough, LE19 and online/via the telephone.

During the Covid pandemic most of my work moved online and whilst I have continued a small amount of work face to face the majority of new spaces available to clients or supervisees are online.
